"Reef Madness" Oil Tanker

I modelled this oil tanker for a short animated film named "Reef Madness", which was produced by my talented fellow students as a final film project at Griffith University.

The brief called for a simple, clean design to fit with the cartoony aesthetic of the film. As such I kept the texturing (completed in Substance Painter) subtle also; just a bit of grunge patterning to break up the flat colours a bit.

The film was rendered using Pixar's Renderman. It was a fun project and a good learning experience as I got to learn a bunch of new tools and techniques, and we're really happy with how the film came out.

Feel free to check out the trailer for "Reef Madness" linked on this page!
